Winter Travel Programs in Mongolia
While guidebooks such as the Lonely Planet provide information on the extreme temperatures of Mongolian winters, what most people don’t know is that there is very little moisture in the atmosphere. We know from experience that this makes it very suitable, climate-wise, for the tours we organize. The snow-covered plains sparkle with their whiteness while you breathe in the purest of fresh airs and hear the snow falling in the surrounding peace and quiet of the open steppe. Spend your nights in traditional Gers, and dine on Mongolian cuisine. If you choose to go horseback riding, we will provide you with warm clothes. Remember, you will be in the countryside in wintertime so you will have a chance to take hot showers in the city after the 2-day trip. A main attraction is dog-sledding, have no fears about getting cold- camel-wool blankets will keep you warm and comfortable. You can also go horseback riding, visit a herder family, or participate in games with the locals held on ice. At night, play the traditional ankle-bones games by the fire while sipping on wine.
